BURNING UP TIME

A LONG TERM PAINTING PROJECT BY PAUL HARVEY

This project consists of a painting representing every year from 1960 to 2000.  This was the year I was born.

There is a strong autobiographical element to the work, although the important aspect is hopefully that there will be a universal one; however, although I am always happy when younger people like my work, I essentially produce work for my own generation. 
​
This to me is the punk rock generation.  Having said this, you would not have to have had that particular punk experience to identify with the work. The vast majority of the memories and experiences will be shared ones.  After all, we all lived through the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and onwards with all that entails.
